Millhiem, PA
2018/01/28
Much Better than the last time we saw him. He's maturing. Less cocky and more jammy. The jams were fine but sometimes way to long and lost along the way. Overall a good show. Best sound I have ever heard at Elk Creek on this day.
Rodney Crowell
State Theatre
State College, PA
2018/02/05
Sublime concert. Rodney & his terrific songs plus Eamon McLoughlin playing magnificently on fiddle & mandolin the show was simply wonderful. Spellbinding. The time flew. Wish he played longer. (he was the warmup act for Tommy Emanuel??)
Tommy Emanuel
State Theatre
State College, PA
2018/02/05
Tommy is technically fantastic. He is a great performer and I still come away empty. He is sort of arrogant in a smiling sort of way. He trys too hard to make sure people know how good he is. He poses!
Billy Strings

Marty Stuart & his Fabulous Superlatives
BB&T Pavilion
Camden, NJ
2018/07/10
Marty was great doing his Sonora Desert, Navajo oriented show. The crowd didn't care. Made noise and ruined a good show. Marty was working so hard to win the crowd. They were busy drinking and yelling. Disappointed.
Tedeschi Trucks Band
Key Bank Pavilion
Burgettstown
2018/07/18
They played fine this night, opening up with a kick butt version of Statesboro Blues. But as the show went on it lost steam. They were fine, but I have seen them much better at a smaller indoor venue. This is a great band.

Leo was just as I expected. Musically excellent, a little off the wall with his stream of consiousness style chatter. His voice is a bit thinner, but he can still kill the 12 string guitar which he finger picks.
Bela Fleck & Victor Wooten
State Theatre
State College, PA
2016/10/13
Sublime. These two were meant to play together. So many notes and so few strings. Wonderful
Bela Fleck, Zakir Housain, Edgar Meyer
Eisenhower Auditorium
University Park
2018/11/14
A really nice show of Indian classical music with a western twist. Zakir Housain was amazing. And Bela and Edgar were sublimee. These were three of the best musicians in the world music/western-indian music genres. A privlege to see the show.
Drive By Truckers
Key Bank Pavilion
Burgettstown, PA
2018/07/18
I stall don't get why people love the DBT. They are a nice guitar band with okay vocals (but poor audio this night hurt the performmance). But I did not see a great band that people travel to see.
Marcus King Band
Key Bank Pavilion
Burgettstown, PA
2018/07/18
I really wanted to see Marcus. He played first in full sun and a sparse crowd. He was great, but the sound problems held them back. I would pay to see these guys again.]
Marty Stuart & his Fabulous Superlatives
Weis Center for the Performing Arts - Bucknell
Lewisburg, PA
2018/10/01
Marty is always great. This show was a bit more country and less bluegrass and western music. His band is sublime. Cousin Kenny is a fabulous guitar player.

My dad always wanted to see Tony. So at about 70 years old we took him to see Tony play. Rice's agent is Lee Olsen from State College, PA. He played with Whetstone Run long ago. A Whetstone reunion broke out at the show. Everybody was there!
James McMurtrey

He was fine. Red Dress is sneaky good. But the guy has a big load of angst which is in there. He gets a lot out of his guitar as a solo singer songwriter.

Sam Bush Band
State Theatre

Sammy was skinny, but as joyful and energetic as usual. This was a really fine show. It was apparent that Sammy and the guys were very comfortable with the setting. One of the best shows in this theater that I have seen.

Nice large horn band with a nice touch of funk. I liked them, but I was one of only 23 people in the concert area during the Friday afternoon show.

She was okay. Song choice and stage presence were questionable. Ned Luberecki was good with the banjo. Wouldn't pay to see her

These guys were fine. 25 years as a band, nobody was in the band the entire 25 years. The band was best when they played without talking between tunes. As the talking grew, the pace ground to a slow, slow crawl.

Loved him. This wasn't the best set I have ever seen from him. The new material was good. His guitar player, Jeff Cook was great.

Never heard of these guys before this show. They have been around 25 years and were quite good. A rock band with taste, talent, and no head thrashing.

I just don't appreciate Abbey especially her stage presence. Bela said, “ Yes dear every 5 minutes after which she would glow. They still perform instrumentals fabulously together, but her vocals don't make it for me. The crowd love, love, loved
